A cold night or just after a really tasty, hearty meal, this one fits the bill…perfect.

500g of casserole beef, shopped into chunks
1 brown onion, sliced
2 carrots, cut into chunks
6 brussel sprouts
1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper berry
1 dessertspoon ground bush tomato
1 teaspoon anise myrtle
1 dessertspoon soy sauce
2 teaspoon grated green ginger
3 Star Anise
500 ml beef stock
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Brown beef in pan with oil, add onions cook until onions are soft and slightly brown

Put into saucepan

Add vegetables, stock and spices

Cover and cook on a low heat for approx 2 1/2, add a little water if necessary.

Take off lid for last 30 minutes of cooking to allow the sauce to thicken

Serve with rice and crusty bread
