Native Pepper & Salt

I use Mountain Pepper Leaf and Berries all the time instead of the traditional pepper. It's spicy, hot flavours can to added to just about any dish that you would add your usual pepper to. J.H. Maiden, former director of the Sydney Botanical Gardens, said this tree has a huge potential as a pepper or allspice substitute. The leaf flavour is pungent and extremely intense when it is dried, the pepperberries a lot hotter.
