Mountain Pepper Leaf


I use Mountain Pepper Leaf all the time instead of the traditional pepper that we've always had in the kitchen. Whilst not a true pepper, it's spicy, hot flavours can to added to just about any dish that you would add pepper to. J.H. Maiden, former director of the Sydney Botanical Gardens, said this tree has a huge potential as a pepper or allspice substitute. The leaf flavour is pungent and extremely intense when it is dried.
