Macadamia Nuts

These nuts need no introduction. As early as the 19th century loggers weren't allowed to fell the macadamia, by 1900 botanists said that it should be cultivated for its nuts. By this time the Americans had taken the seeds to Hawaii, created plantations and made this nut their own. It wasn't until 1963 commercial plantations were planted and a multi-million dollar industry was created.
