Marcie Rivers Purdie (Bush Name "Magigu")

Born: 1973

Born in Derby, with her formative years spent in Hall’s Creek, and her schooling in Wyndham, Marcia, or Marci, as she prefers, is truly a child of the Kimberley.

Having lived at Turkey Creek / Warmun Community for over ten years, she has worked at several important positions within the community, including day-care coordinator and many key secretarial tasks.

She uses her rare leisure moments to develop her new found love, painting. Having famous artists, mother-in-law Shirley Purdie, and grandmother Madigan Thomas on hand to lend advice on ochre techniques.  She is now painting her old people’s country with confidence and freshness.
